I had no choice but to drive through these damned storms. They were sometimes lined up shoulder to shoulder, in ranks, one storm after another.

2 tunnels that are spill ways pouring out water at high pressure from Cody Dam. Water for power Turbines enters tunnels here at the dam and goes for a half mile to the turbines downstream.

Looking WSW. Most of the buildings have been replaced with newer structures, imitating the old false fronted buildings. Deadwood has never been a ghost town.

Deadwood is configured in a "T" to conform to the gulches it is located in. Deadwood is the county seat of Lawrence County, South Dakota. Gambling is legal here. The last whorehouse closed in 1981, not that long ago.

Homestake mine compressed air locomotive worked in the mines from about 1889 to 1919, then replaced with another. They had a compressor back then that would pump up air pressure to 1000 lbs/sq inch!

Pronounced "Leed". Just stopped mining this open pit gold mine recently. Look closely and you can see the old mine shafts in the sides of the cliffs.

Had to go see it. A National Monument, so it's free to get in, but you have to pay a vendor $10 to park your car or motorcycle, as all public parking areas are chained off.
